Our fundamental services...
We consider the following services fundamental to our operations:
Do you need your site measured?
To prepare useful drawings of your proposals, it is necessary to have drawings of the existing building or whole site in a computer aided drawings format. For some projects precision is vital and we can advise you on what is suitable for your project and carry out site survey and drafting services at the outset and part of a commission.
Do you require pre-purchase advice?
Finding the right site can be an immense, sometimes life-changing challenge. We find that clients often require independent advice before fully committing to a property purchase. With our extensive architectural design experience, Petrie Design can offer clients advice on renovating or wholesale alteration of a site. We can also assist with the locating of an ideal site, and alongside a local surveyor or agent. We can also arrange a pre-application meeting with the Local Authority for early dialogue and to prime clients on the necessary consents.
Do you need Planning and Building regulations advice?
Most projects are likely to require statutory approvals from Local Authority planning or development control departments and/ or building control departments. Petrie Design is able to offer clients advice at the concept stage, prior to the commencement, and during the development of a project. We can work closely with a Local Authority in order to obtain early stage feedback on the likelihood of approvals where alterations to site or extended works are required. This also applies to Listed Building and other protected heritage site projects. We are able to complete and submit all the relevant statutory consents for your project, from permitted development applications to planning applications, building regulations applications and other consents such as listed building consents, landlords consent, party wall act notices etc.
Do you require a complete new build, an extension or adaptations to existing?
We can interpret a client's requirements, and thereafter offer advice on unlocking site potential within the bounds of the client's original design brief. We can optimise small or a restrictive building plots to provide a scheme with valuable additional space, advice on adaptations through retro-fitting or even consider a complete rebuild where appropriate.
Providing and arranging for specialist advice and input...
We can work closely with our associated network of consultants to bring a design team together and for every aspect of our client’s projects.
As necessary, and if the project dictates, we can arrange the organisation of specialist input from consultants in:
Quantity Surveying & Budget Cost Estimating Service | Structural and Civil Engineering | Environmental Impact Assessment | Arboricultural Work & Woodland Survey | Archaeological Survey | Historic Building Survey & Assessment | Horticultural Specification | & Civil Bio-engineering Scenarios | Site Water Management & Flood Risk Assessment | & Ecological Surveying.
Management and delivery...
We will provide a full architectural service and as design team lead consultant through the work stages from inception to occupation. We offer a commitment and an unparalleled level of service that reflects all our client’s requirements.
