SERVICE

We are an adapting practice.

Our ethos is of providing exceptional design approaches and by adhering closely to professional conditions, accepted standards of design, and the codes of practice. We understand that every project also has its constraints and opportunities. We keep it simple with design of construction and without sacrificing the client's own expressive aesthetic preference.

We provide a wide range of professional design services for our client’s varying and often complex architectural, landscape and environmental requirements; this is irrespective of the size or type of commission.

We believe that working with Petrie Design is straightforward.

Within our architectural service provision, we manage the design and construction process on the basis of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) work stages and with reference to the RIBA Outline Plan of Work (2007).

These work stages outline the typical level of services offered at the feasibility, design, planning, tender and construction stages.   We establish the brief and principles hand-in-hand with the client, the two most important elements in project design –then develop this into an innovative and cost effective design that responds to both the physical and cultural context.

Petrie Design can also offer a partial service where the client can instruct us to carry out specific stages of work.  Whether it is a large commercial project or minor alterations to your home, we can see your project through inception to completion and occupation.  We can give advice on an appropriate procurement process and contract arrangement.  Or we can offer a part service and can assist you through the statutory approvals allowing you to engage direct with your own client chosen or named/nominated contractor(s).  Whichever approach, you remain in control.

Working in professional practice, Jonathan has been involved in small to major capital projects- from the secular to the ecclesiastical- and the listed, historic and to the new build.
